Omnisphere just has a unique sonic signature that is antecedent to the brand of Spectrasonics. The entire catalogue has a very distinct sound and you can almost, always distinguish it within a mix- no matter the patch. Every time I find a patch that I really like and think it is unique? I can always tell it's an Omnisphere patch. Is it worth it? Absolutely! (I'll just give you my personal experience with the library and maybe it's worth doing some investigation and then you can decide for yourself End of the day? It's what you like to use and it's what you love the sound of the most! For me? I personally do love Omnisphere in many ways of course! I do own nearly all of the Unfinished expansions among others, and I've also been using Omnisphere since version 1's release date- and it sounds great! However. Boolean Search: Projects: Sound Match: Sound Lock: It didn't it onto the shortlist of just about every film/media composer in the world by accident. Omnisphere has a lot of tricks up its sleeve that make it quick to use, but like anything it requires you RTFM, and watch the videos that highlight the important features. This makes them searchable, and easy to track down later if you're consistent with your use of keywords. Two other features you'll want to be aware of right away are Sound Match and Sound Lock.įinally you can tag patches with keywords lickity-split by hitting 'edit tags' and pasting keywords into the description area of patches you stumble your way onto. The descriptions are searchable and have all kinds of tags not in the column view. ALSO, search for any word you can think of that might be in the description. You can also exclude keywords, and perform other boolean searches using key commands. Search for Hybrid and Tense and you now have a list of about 40-50 sounds. Typing in Hybrid will yield way too many results. For example you can combine search terms with the word and. As soon as you find patches that fit that category add them to the corresponding project right away, before the patch goes missing in a sea of thousands of presets.Īnd while there is a lot of fluff in the factory patches, there's also plenty of useful stuff you have to use the search feature, and know how to use it. My advice would be to create a project for each sound type you use often and think of it as a collection of those sounds. A lot of the metro presets are included and it's mostly Future songs.Click to expand. You also have Projects. These are all the presets that I have listed that are used in either Drake or Future songs.
